Here is my racing report.  It was a warm morning on the hill near central.  All the stars were there and the Big guns lined up. Dave, Aaron, Clyde, James, Steve, Logan. Mike and I Agreed to go out together  and take it easy until after Veyo.  1. 6.52  2. 6.44 3. 6.38 4. 6.27 5. 6.29 6. 6.24 7.6.26 8. 7.26  feeling tired.  9. 7.11 pushing up incline 10.7.05 11. 7.22 12. 7.06 13.6.50 14. 7.02 15. 6.50 16.6.29 17.6.48  18.  6.57 19. 7.16  20. 7.16       21. 6.40 22. 7.15  23.6.59  24. 7.08 25. 7.25  26.7.58.

Looking at this  I lost concentration the last 5 miles.   And this is where I missed my sub three.

I was  feeling good and let Mike go  around mile 8. I should of stayed with him. he was about 200 yards ahead of me  but I decided to stay behind.  I seen Logan and I wanted to stop and make sure he was ok.  But it looked like he was being taken care of.   Then I ran into Dustin  about a mile before the ledges.  He ran with me for a while until the ledges.  Mike was not to far ahead.    I caught up to Mike on the corner of the Diagonal  He was in pain and was limping!   I felt pretty bad.  I did not want to leave him.  At this point I knew the Sub three was out of range  so I slowed down a little and coasted in.   This is the best time I have had for a couple of years  so I am not to disappointed.  I still think that sub three is in reach.   Thanks to the cheering crowd and my friends.  Mike would have had a 2:57  or less if it were not for his injury.    The man can flat out fly and I am at aw when I think of how much pain he went through to just finish this marathon.

I think you had a great race Bill. Worth a sub-3 on any normal year, that heat was BRUTAL!! Great job on a great running year, hope next year goes at least as well and the sub-3 will be yours easily. And hope maybe I can get there as well.

Once again nice job on the race Wildbull. You own me now. You are in my head. I can't beat the Bull..anymore.

Actually, you ran a great race and should feel good about your training and this race, even though you didn't get the sub 3 you still had a good day, when many people didn't.

I'm looking forward to getting back to training and racing more. I need to get out more with you guys this next year.

I'm not so sure what my future will be with marathons, thinking I might focus on the half marathon distance a little more.

Nice job Billy. Even though this isn't a sub 3 I think it may be your best marathon ever under the circumstances. You were so close on such a hard day... with good conditions you would have nailed it. It sucks to say lets go get it next year... it's like a broken record.Maybe mix it up a little and find something new to run in the meantime.

Nice run Bill. No magic words from me, lets just keep at it and hope the next one pays off better.

Wild Bull, you are flat out the man! You ran a great race. I had so much fun training and running with you. I can't tell you how much you have helped my running. I appreciate all your kind comments after the race and making me feel better about a tough day. We will get the sub 3 one day my friend.
